Amgen Tour of California - Sports Basement Cheer Squad
Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM (PDT)
San Francisco, CA
How lucky are we!?!? The final stage, Stage 8, of the Amgen Tour of California is passing right through our neighborhood. We have 'front row seats' or at least front roadside standing room to watch the pros fly by on Marina Blvd at Little Marina Green and up to the Golden Gate Bridge. How's that for a great place to be a spectator!?!?
Sports Basement invites you to join us and our cheer squad to ring some cowbells, hold up your homemade cheering signs and enjoy the morning race action from our parking area and sidewalk along the race course that is Old Mason Street!
We'll be setting up at the corner of Marina Blvd and Baker Street (a.k.a. Little Marina Green) with music pumping to add that social party atmosphere we love so much and enjoy some of the best professional cyclists in action.
Meet the riders of Team Cannondale on Monday, May 20th at 12:00pm - 12:30pm after the finale of the Amgen Tour of California for autographs and photos. RSVP for the meet & greet event here: http://sportsbasement-cannondaleproteamautographs.eventbrite.com/
We hope to have you with us to cheer on such an epic event passing through our incredible 'backyard'!

There has been an upgrade to the day's cheering festivities. We're now meeting at the corner of Marina Blvd & Baker Street, a.k.a. Little Marina Green, (map: http://goo.gl/maps/XXTfM).
The riders will be traveling along the new Doyle Drive road from Marina Blvd up to the 101 North hwy and across the Golden Gate Bridge from there.
Heads up! We are meeting for the cheer squad at 7:30am because the street to access Sports Basement, Old Mason Street, will be closed during the ride therefore if you are driving to join us you'll need to arrive before the 7:30am road closure.
Also, this Sunday is also Bay to Breakers with a number of road closures that could make for a tough commute across town. Visit the Bay to Breakers eventpage to see where the road closures will be and how to avoid them: http://baytobreakers.com/uploads/pdf/street-closures-2013.pdf
