Health care is a top concern for small business owners across the country and many employers want to provide coverage but often can't afford to. The Affordable Care Act includes a variety of measures specifically for small businesses that help lower premium cost growth and increase access to quality, affordable health insurance. Depending on whether you are self-employed, an employer with fewer than 25 employees, and employer with fewer than 50 employees, or an employer with 50 or more employees, different provisions of the Affordable Care Act may apply to you.

Karin Dunn Navigation Services Manager, is a loaned executive made available to Gateway to Care by the Harris Health System. She has been Gateway to Care’s Manager of Navigation Services since 2001 and has developed and implemented programs that have assist over 122,000 uninsured and underinsured persons in accessing appropriate health services. She has hired and trained lay persons as Health Service Systems Navigators, and was instrumental in the development of curriculum for the third institute certified by the State of Texas to train Community Health Workers.
