"America's Role in the World Today: A Look at Globalization, the Diffusion of Technology, and Global Demographic Shifts" with General Raymond Odierno, USA (Ret.)
Known for his instrumental role in defeating al-Qaida in Iraq and having led over 1,000,000 servicemen and women as the chief of staff of the Army, General Raymond Odierno brings exceptional prestige and offers significant lessons learned from nearly four decades of proven leadership experience with an unmatched track record of success to his audiences. Odierno has dedicated his life to serving the United States and has gained remarkable expertise in a wide range of issues—from cybersecurity and risk management to acquisition and global crisis management. CEO Jamie Dimon said of bringing Odierno on board at JPMorgan Chase, where he currently serves as an advisor to the company on managing cybersecurity risks, “[Odierno’s] experience, vision and impressive track record of success when confronting overwhelming challenges will provide significant value to our leadership team.” When Odierno and his team left Iraq in 2010, the landscape had completely transformed. Civilian casualties had decreased by 70% and attacks on coalition forces were lower in number than had been seen in any of the four years prior. Previous roles served by Odierno include assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he was the primary military advisor to Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice. Sharing his thoughts on the imperative roles discipline, structure and focus play in the execution of a leader’s vision, Odierno additionally provides indispensable insight on the complex and changing global landscape, critical to any company interested in evaluating the risks and opportunities of operating their business internationally.
