Open enrollment: There are no testing or prerequisite required to register. Once a course is full we provide you the option to register for the next course. Please refer to the Class Schedules for specific dates and time. You may register at our school during Office Hours or on-line. ASL Levels 1 and 2 Adults includes (32 weeks) - Spring (16 weeks) and Fall (16 weeks) semesters. It is a beginner level course that teaches American Sign Language, Deaf Culture and history. Topics include: basic vocabulary, grammar, history, fingerspelling, numbers, terminology, and Deaf culture and history. The course is structured to help the students build basic expressive and receptive skills in American Sign Language and to understand the cultural values, beliefs, and behavioral norms of the Deaf community. This is an instructor guided course with independent studies. During class time the students are provided with lectures and group activities to learn new skills and to reinforce, review, and practice what has been learned in class. A certificate of completion will be provided once you finalize the course.
