Description

In the wake hurricanes Harvey and Irma, The American Red Cross of the National Capital Area Region will be working with community partners, civic groups, business, churches and public agencies (schools & libraries) to collect cleaning supplies as well as health and comfort items which are in great demand across the Gulf Region from Houston to Florida.

You are signing up to be a REGIONAL COMMUNITY PARTNER.

  • You will be the primary PoC for your Civic Group, Church, Business or other Communtiy Group
  • You will provide a space locally for collecting donated items
  • You will promote the "Statement of Need" to collect the items listed below
  • You will be responsible for transporting these products to the Regional Consolidation point

On Saturday, September 16, 2017 between the hours of 9:00am and 12:00pm, these supplies should be brought to:

FAQs

What is a comfort kit?:

A comfort kit contains essential elments for health and comfort. These items should be collected and placed in a 1 gallon resealable bag. They contain the following items. Items should be NEW and UNUSED.

Small and "Trial" sized:

  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Conditioner
  • Shave Cream
  • Hand Sanitizer

Individual

  • Razor (disposable)
  • Comb
  • Soap
  • Washcloth (1)
  • Dental Floss
  • Kleenex 1 package (Small)
  • Snacks – (Non-Perishable / Non-Crushable items)

What cleaning items are needed?

  • Industrial push brooms
  • Dust masks
  • Bleach
  • Gloves (of all kinds related to work and cleaning)

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

NO - This is a communtiy wide service project

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

NO - Sign-up is more a means to manage communication between volunteers

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

YES - Tickets are not required for this event.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
