Each month we have lectures devoted to American music, particularly Grammy Award ® winners and their famous albums. We'll learn and discuss what makes an album a "hit," the creative process in music, how do musicians achieve success in the record industry and what are unifying factors in winning albums (if there are any). Each lecture will cover individual albums/artists and over the course will include Frank Sinatra's "Come Dance with Me," Michael Jackson's "Thriller," "Ray Charles' "Genius Loves Company," Taylor Swift's "1989" and others.
Led by Dmitry Tsvetkov, a musician, literary agent and writer.
December's lecture will be a bit different and will cover Christmas carols! Learn why many Americans love to sing carols, which ones are the most popular and you'll be singing them by the end of the lecture.
Please note that the start time this month is at 6:30p.m.
Join us afterward for our monthly Open Music Jam Club at 7:30p.m.! Do you love to play music with your friends? Need a fun and free space to do so? Then join our Music Jam Club! The American Center will offer its space, microphones and sound system to all musicians and singers to play in great company once a month on Fridays. Bring your favorite instrument, sing your favorite song, strum out your favorite tune, meet new friends and have a great time.
