Our last dinner of the Field to Vase Dinner Tour will be at Holland America Flowers, known around the world as one of the premier growers of bulb flowers. This premier flower farm sprung from humble beginnings. In 1980, Benno and Klazina Dobbe came from Holland to begin a new life with only a few suitcases and just enough money to buy a small farm.
Their passion for farming and commitment to excellence has fueled the success of their now large family-run flower farm with fields in both Washington and California.
American Grown Flowers, food and wine will take center stage on this stop along a dinner tour that The Wall Street Journal is calling a “Feast Among the Flora.” The evening will focus on celebrating the idea that the flowers at the center of the table should be as fresh, local and sustainable as the food on your plate.
Guests will sip locally sourced wine, enjoy lively conversation with like-minded dinner guests and feast on an artisanal, locally sourced meal at a table festooned in floral designs from flowers freshly picked on-site.
After a four-course meal served family style and insightful talks and discussions from the farmer, chef and florist, guests will leave with wonderful memories as well as a handcrafted bouquet of flowers and a Field to Vase tote full of floral treasures.
