AMERICAN EXPERIENCE presents an exclusive preview screening and discussion of its upcoming film The Boys of '36. The one-hour screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring filmmakers Margaret Grossi and Mary Carillo, along with author Daniel James Brown and rowing historian Eric Cohen.
Inspired by Brown's best-selling book The Boys in the Boat, this film tells the thrilling story of the American Olympic rowing team that triumphed against all odds in Nazi Germany. Featuring interviews with Brown, historians and surviving children of the 1936 Washington team, The Boys of ’36 premieres on AMERICAN EXPERIENCE in August on PBS in conjunction with the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 80th anniversary of the miracle crew’s triumph.
USRowing is the engagement partner for The Boys of '36.
