Description

Join us Tuesday, January 17 for a free screening of America Divided, Episode 1, in honor of the National Day of Healing. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring series creator and executive producer Solly Granatstein and W. K. Kellogg Foundation Chief of Staff AJ Jones, II, that will be moderated by Kysha Brown Robinson, principal at Compositions, LLC.

Admission is free, but you must present your ticket to enter.

America Divided was created by Solly Granatstein, Lucian Read, and Richard Rowley, with executive producers Norman Lear, Common and Shonda Rhimes. The series promotes authentic and inclusive narratives to shift the national discourse and the perceptions that contribute to the racial disparities in health, education, and economic security for children and families. In Episode 1, Oscar®-winning hip-hop artist Common returns to his hometown of Chicago to explore disparities in the criminal justice system; actress Rosario Dawson travels to Flint, Michigan, to uncover the man-made disaster behind the city’s water crisis; and legendary TV producer Norman Lear investigates gentrification in New York City, revealing a city of people with no homes and homes with no people.

This event is hosted by: Greater New Orleans Foundation, Foundation for Louisiana, City of New Orleans, and W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
