Amen to Action

2017 marks a year of milestones for two major church happenings. One was the 1517 Reformation, sparked by Martin Luther, which led to the rise of Protestantism. The second was the Catholic Charismatic movement, a true revival that started in 1957 at Duquesne University and spread throughout the world.

As we—a group of Pittsburgh laymen and church leaders—contemplated the confluence of these events, we began a series of meetings to discuss a vision for a major city-wide happening.

Our shared goal is to connect people of all faiths, creating a platform of unity and amassing spiritual capital more powerful than “all the coal in the hills and steel in the mills...that Pittsburgh will become a spiritual power plant for the rest of the world.”
