DESCRIPTION

This one day LEAN BOOT CAMP will provide participants with a great understanding of Lean Tools and Methods with practical application on site at the host company! Participants will learn the tools and then go practice what they’ve just learned on the shop floor!

This AME Consortium workshop focuses on Lean Fundamentals to allow participants to quickly learn and apply Lean Tools and Methods immediately. Host company WS Display is early in the lean journey developing a kaizen culture that allows participants to practice in a working setting that same day.

What You Will Learn:

This one day LEAN BOOT CAMP is all about learning and applying LEAN TOOLS. The goal is to build an understanding of Lean and help develop great problem solvers for your organization. Tools that are covered:

  • Lean and Kaizen
  • The 8 Wastes and their countermeasures
  • Rattlesnake Hunt Exercise
  • 7S, Visual Management, Kanban
  • Set-up Reduction
  • Processing Mapping, One Piece Flow, Standard Work
  • LEGO® Go-Kart Simulation
  • Team Improvement Exercise

Who should attend:

Our host requires all participants to provide full name, company, and a valid email by March 18. Registrants will receive a security an email with a questionnaire that they will need to fill out prior.

Instructors

JERRY WRIGHT is a seasoned Lean Professional with 31 years of experience in the Aerospace, Consumer Products, Power Distribution and Medical Device manufacturing industries. He has taught Lean and Process Excellence at both UCSD and SDSU. Jerry has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. He is Lean Gold Certified and is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

KEN ROLFES

Ken Rolfes is a management advisor, past corporate officer, senior operations executive and Shingo award-winning author recognized for contributing to lean as a business strategy. He has extensive lean enterprise experience in public and private companies that design, manufacture, and market technically based products for the medical device, industrial product and computer industries. Ken is President of KDR Associates, a Director of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and leads the San Diego Business Improvement Consortium.
