AMCP NDS: Success at Conference Receptions & Networking Events
Thu, April 27, 2017, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM EDT
Attending a professional networking event is often a daunting task for students. The first time you attend one of these events, you might feel anxious because you aren't sure what the ettique expectations are or how to interact with the professionals there. Success at Conference Receptions & Networking Events is an excellent opportunity to experience a professional conference reception, before actually ever attending a conference.
During this event, Dr. Robert S. Beardsley, Professor and Vice-Chair for Administration of the PHSR department, and Dr. Catherine Cooke, Research Associate Professor of the PPS department, will orient students with the ettique and environment of professional networking events. Following the lecture-style orientation, students will engage in a live reception where they will "practice" networking. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with our tremendously successful P4 students and each other. The event will close with a reflective discussion.
Hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Please note: Space is limited, so please be certain you can attend before signing up. If you are unable to attend after signing up, please notify firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com at least 24 hours prior to the event. Failure to do so will disqualify you from future events.
