Spend Sundays smiling and hi-fiving your young chef with Ambrosia Kitchen, as they learn to COOK and create from menus. Children ages 8-14 are the chefs of the class as they learn cooking essentials such as proper and safe knife skills, the value of measuring, and the importance of sanitation.
Your young chef will be hands on and encouraged to be creative in a small group setting. The class will end with a tasty experience made with love and an understanding of the creative culinary process.
Our Kitchen has an old-school home economics feeling allowing for lots of space.
Highlights

Class is designed for ages 8 – 14. We have been known to allow super mature students into the class.

We cook with nut-free ingredients. Almond milk and nuts are used in the kitchen, just not used in ANY of our children's classes.

We have multiple children and group rates. Group Rates are for 3 or more students. Email us for more information.

There is a free parking lot available with an entrance on 46th street. There is also street parking on Chestnut. The High School is accessible by SEPTA.

The Kitchen is located on the 3rd floor. Let us know if you need special accommodations otherwise, take the stairs to the 3rd floor. Students will be standing and cooking most of the classroom time.

Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and long hair should be tied back.

We have an area for parents to wait and relax. You do not have to wait. We prefer for parents and guardians to remain in the adjoined classroom during class sessions.

We do not allow cell phones into the kitchen. We give the students an opportunity to take pictures at the end.

ENTER on Chestnut Street through the Wooden Doors. Walk up steps; Turn Right & go up the steps to the 3rd Floor. We are located on the 3rd floor
Summer DATES/Activities
The experience is made through FUN and Educational, Interactive cooking classes. Culinary Educators will lead classes which include lessons on knife skills, measuring skills, recipe reading, hospitality exposure, distinguishing ingredients, healthy substitutions, nutrition and general knowledge of the kitchen.
June Classes
9nd - In-Quiche-You were Wondering
Junior Chefs will be learning how to make a quiche. They will learn about egg properties, and how to assemble a quiche.
16th - Brunch with Dad
We are celebrating Father's Day with a daddy/junior brunch. Each group will prep 4 different brunch themed dishes. With guidance from our Culinary Educators, we will experiment with eggs, bread, batter, meats, and veggies.
Registration required. Space is limited!
This is a daddy-n-me class. Jr. Chefs must be between the ages of 8-14.
Price includes all materials, instruction, recipes, take home everything you make. Class is from 10-1 PM
30th - Sundays Salads
What makes a salad a salad? Does it need lettuce, does it have dressing? Junior Chefs will dig into properties of a salad, what makes a salad a salad, and alternative salad ingredients. Everything from a Ceasar salad to a house salad, and even fruit salads. Join us for an all salad madness
July Classes
7th - Sunday Summer Cookout
Summer Days in July call for cookouts. We are holding a class where Junior Chefs will learn to cook picnic classics. Classic dishes like deviled eggs, burger sliders, and corn on the cob. A menu perfect for those hot July days
14th - Conflictos Taco Sunday
You can never go wrong with tacos! They are simple to make and quick to go down. Join us to learn how to make tacos! Junior Chefs will create a meat-based filling and a vegetable substitute, and compare the two. They will create their own pico de gallo and assemble tacos!
21th - BBQ Chix Fingers Sunday
Who knew chicken fingers would be this easy. Join us for a workshop on how to properly prepare chicken to make the best chicken fingers. Junior Chefs will also learn how to make barbeque sauce from scratch!
August Classes
4th - Slice Your Sundays Pizza Style
We are celebrating the start of August with a make-it-yourself pizza class. Junior Chef will prep pizza dough, the sauce, and the toppings for their pizzas.

11th - All Chips In On Sunday
Store bought chips can unhealthy. We are holding a class on how to make easy veggie alternatives. Kale, Zucchini and Potatoes are the vegetables that will be used to transform into delicious bite snacks. Junior Chefs will also learn how to make Onion dip that can go well with their chips!
18th - Smooth(ie) Transition to the end of Summer
Smoothies are conveniently delicious, join us as we explore different combinations of ingredients to make different types of smoothies. We will discuss the health benefits of the different ingredients in the smoothies and the importance of keeping a healthy diet!
