Event description

Description

DOORS AT 9:30PM / SHOW AT 10 / STREET AND NEARBY PAID PARKING

Amber Ruffin (Late Night with Seth Meyers, Detroiters) joins Austin Sketch Fest as a featured headliner.

Amber has written for Late Night with Seth Meyers since 2014, becoming the first African American woman to write for a late-night network talk show in the U.S. In addition to writing for Late Night, Ruffin also appears on the program, and her segments "Amber Says What" and "Jokes Seth Can't Tell," are both wildly popular. As well as headlining the festival with an original one-woman show, her original play (with Kevin Sciretta and David Schmoll) BIGFOOT the Musical premiers at ColdTowne Theater during ASF.

Featuring Pendulum

Pendulum has emerged from their terrible slumber and is now terrorizing the countryside with their dark visions in the form of very good sketch comedy. Their show is hilarious (voted ColdTowne Theater's Best Sketch Group for the past 3 years and counting), dark (most shows have at least one ghost in them), and boundary pushing (they once did a Halloween show in March...incredible). Please come give them the attention they crave or they will wither and die. Thank you.

Also featuring Kids These Days

... a supergroup of diverse talent, a la Ocean’s 11, with a Swiss Army Knife of surprises they use to constantly delight audiences. They put on a true variety sketch show, with each performance filled with stage sketches, digital sketches, musical numbers, celebrity impressions, and more! Audiences might see a ‘90s R&B boy band singing a sexy song about women’s rights, Senator Elizabeth Warren trying out for the Mary Poppins sequel, a bar mitzvah, and more. Sketches inhabit different senses of humor and perspectives on the world, surprising the audience with something unexpected at every turn.
