Description

Overcome adversity against all odds. Amanda Lindhout, survivor, author and activist will tell her story of being kidnapped in Somalia in 2008 and being held for 460 days. Her incredibly powerful story will show how compassion, courage, resilience and strength helped her overcome unimaginable circumstances.

This event is co-sponsored by Key4Women and the Forum for Executive Women.

Event location is Kiggins Auditorium on the Emma Willard Campus. There will be a continental breakfast before the event. Parking is available on campus in the south parking lot off of the Pawling Avenue entrance and the gym lot. You can find more parking details and a map here.

Amanda is a New York Times bestselling author, speaker and journalist. Her multiple award winning memoir, A House in the Sky, has been on the Globe and Mail top ten list for over two years. In 2015 her work as a journalist included writing feature stories in Maclean’s, National Post and Flare and guest hosting CBC’s The Current.
