Description

It hasn’t been a typical year, so why celebrate the season with a typical holiday party? Join AMA Cincinnati, Braxton Brewing Co., Graeter’s Ice Cream and Build-A-Bear Workshop to celebrate the season and assemble a furry friend to be donated to St. Joseph Orphanage to be a source of comfort and joy for a child in their new emergency placement program.

Braxton’s Taproom will be full of elves (yes, really!) and specials of the night will include two limited release drinks: a fresh-tapped Firkin and Floats delectably crafted from Graeter’s Peppermint Ice Cream and Braxton’s Dead Blow Brew.

Your $24-ticket includes the opportunity to assemble a Build-A-Bear, one drink ticket, and the priceless gift of comfort to a child in SJO’s emergency placement program.

Register by Wednesday, December 8, to secure the bear that you will create!
5:30 p.m. - Braxton Elves tap limited-release firkin
6:00 p.m. - Build-A-Bear assembly
Continued cheer and mingling to follow!

Braxton offers nitro and cold brew coffees, Coca-Cola products, tea and (when available) hard cider.

Why St. Joseph Orphanage?

St. Joseph Orphanage (SJO) is a comprehensive behavioral health and educational treatment agency that helps children and their families on the road to recovery and success. Committed to serving more than 1,400 youth daily, SJO is the oldest and largest mental health agency in Cincinnati. Over the course of 185 years, SJO has evolved from providing physical and emotional care through orphanages in the 1800s to a continuum of services that meet the emotional, psychological, and educational needs of children with mental. This December, SJO will expand its services in partnership with HCJFS (Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services) by introducing an emergency placement unit which will provide temporary sanctuary for children who are experiencing a crisis situation.

The Cincinnati marketing community is proud to be donate this year’s bears to provide comfort for children in this program. You can learn more about their new program, other services they offer, and more ways to get involved at stjosephorphanage.org.

Why Build-A-Bear?

Many years ago, Maxine Clark and her friend went shopping for a stuffed animal. When there were no stuffed animals left at the store, her friend suggested they make one. In the 20 years since that idea, Build-A-Bear was launched and now operates more than 400 unique workshops that provide memorable experiences (and soft, huggable stuffed bears) to children and parents all over the world.

Each bear is special, assembled with love and with an actual heart stitched on the inside. These bears can provide a sense of companionship and joy for children no matter their age, ethnicity, or familial situation. This small act of creating a bear with thoughtfulness for a child to receive on Christmas morning may be a gift that brings happiness beyond words.
