Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center hosts an Alzheimer's support group facilitated by the Alzheimer's Association Florida Gulf Coast Chapter. The support group is for family members, caregivers, and others interested in learning more about Alzheimer's disease. Meetings are open to everyone and free of charge.
This support group is designed to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers. In the group, attendees develop coping methods, encourage self-care, learn about community resources, and optimize care techniques. The group is regularly scheduled and have an open format that runs for an hour depending on the size of the group.
