Event description

Please be sure you have read all information, including the FAQ section, before registering. The information here is the same as the information on the registration page at

If you have any questions, concerns, or problems registering, please email, visit us at the Community Service Center on the 4th Floor of the GSU, or call us at 617-353-4710.

Registration Basics

1. Before you register, please be sure to:

  • Have a valid credit card
  • Have your health insurance information (if you absolutely cannot get it now, we will ask you for it later.)
  • Understand our refund policy (See: "Refunds" below)
  • Have a list of trips you're most interested in.

2. This registration guarantees you a spot on ASB through payment of a deposit towards the total trip fee. Trip deposit amounts are:

  • $100: Philadelphia
  • $500: Antelope Island, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco
  • $200: All others

3. Final payments for trips will be due on February 18, 2018. You will be notified of your balance due on a rolling basis. The balance due will be the total trip amount, minus your deposit, and minus any scholarships (See: "Scholarships" below). Total trip fees are:

  • $250: Philadelphia
  • $390: Chicago, Detroit, Harpers Ferry, Louisburg, Macon, Milwaukee, Orland, Paris
  • $440: Asheville, Atlanta, Crossville, Des Moines, Greenville, Hobe Sound, Horse Cave, Louisville, Memphis, Montreal, Nashville, Natchez, New Orleans, Roanoke, Shawnee, St. Lous.
  • $900: Antelope Island, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco

4. Failure to pay your total fee due by February 18, 2018 may result in losing your spot on a trip.

5. Do not use your browser's "Back" button while registering. You will lose your progress and forfeit your ticket.

6. You may not register for more than one trip or hold a spot for someone by registering for multiple trips. In doing so, you will forfeit your opportunity to participate in ASB this year.

7. ASB is a substance-free program. Consumption of alcohol or recreational drugs is prohibited for the duration of the program, and students/chaperones in violation of this policy, even those who are of age, will be immediately dismissed from the program at their own expense.

1. Scholarships ($50-$250) are available to students who demonstrate high financial need as measured by the Office of Financial Assistance.

2. To apply for a scholarship, answer "Yes" to the reigstration question asking if you are Pell-eligible or high financial need and applying for a scholarship

3. Complete the short essay answering why you are applying for a scholarship. The essay serves two purposes. First, we have a few select scholarships donated to us by alumni and friends of ASB and the CSC. These essays will be used to decide who receives these unique scholarships. Second, if you are experiencing particular financial hardship and are not Pell Grant-eligible, this essay allows you space to provide context that will allow us to consider you for a scholarship. These essays will only be read by ASB program managers and the CSC director.

4. Scholarship funds are limited and may not be available to students who are selected from wait lists. If you are applying for a scholarship and your first choice trip is sold out, we recommend choosing an available trip.

After Registering

1. You will immediately receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite. Please save this email for your records.

2. Beginning December 11 and rolling thereafter, we will reach out to registered students with more information about the program, van training, their trip, and their remaining balance. These emails will come from, please be sure this email address is not blocked.

3. Coordinators for each trip will reach out to students with more information, including contact information, shortly thereafte.

4. Remaining balances will be due by February 19, 2018.

5. Please save time for three pre-trip engagements:

  • Pre-break 1: Trip meetings at a time in February, TBD by trip.
  • Pre-break 2: A mandatory (unless you have class) safety presentation, Tuesday, February 20, 7-9 p.m.
  • Van Driver Training: Optional for students on driving trips.

Please contact if you need to cancel your registration.

  • Before January 5, 2018- We will be happy to refund you 100% of any fees paid.
  • January 5 – February 23, 2018- We will only be able to refund your ticket fee if we are able to fill your spot. Because we will have already purchased non-refundable tickets for airplane and bus trips, only 50% refunds will be available at this time to students registered for Montreal, Philadelphia, Antelope Island, Phoenix, Portland, and San Francisco.
  • February 24, 2018 or later- We will be unable to refund your ticket.

The waitlist is currently full. Please consider registering for one of the amazing trips with open spaces.

1. Select the "Waitlist" to register for a position on the waitlist. We will ask you for all the same information we ask normal registrants, with the addition of allowing you to list trips you'd like to be considered for. Complete the requested information.

2. We strongly encourage you to consider a different trip that may not be your top choice. The chances of being pulled from the waitlist are low and every trip is an amazing opportunity to engage with peers and a new community.

3. Scholarships may not be available to students who select and are pulled off of the waitlist.

4. If a spot opens up, you will be notified that the spot is being made available on Eventbrite. It will then be incumbent upon you to register as soon as possible or risk losing the open spot.

5. We will keep offering open spots up until the Monday before Spring Break (February 26, 2018).
