Come join us for the screening of this highly praised documentary feature about Ukraine’s most fascinating pastor with his greatest ambition to save as many orphans as possible - Gennadiy Mokhnenko.
He has made a name for himself by forcibly abducting homeless drug-addicted kids from the streets of Mariupol, Ukraine. Founded in 1998, Gennadiy’s center “Pilgrim” has evolved into a more nebulous institution: 17+years, 3000+ homeless kids saved. Today it’s the largest children’s rehab center in Ukraine and all of the Eastern Europe.
Gennadiy Mokhnenko is the person you get fascinated by from the minute 1. Ethnic Russian, born in Eastern Ukraine, he is in full support of Ukraine’s fight against Russian imperialistic regime. But his main goal every day is to save children's’ lives. The father of 3 of his own, and 33 adopted, this man leads with action and not words. His foster kids had no shelter, no parents, no hope, no light at the end of the tunnel until father Gennadiy came into a picture.
Extraordinary. Powerful. Inspiring. Thought provoking. Eye opening. Also submitted for Oscars.
