Event description

Description

The second annual Independent Artist Series presents Ethan Coen's "Almost an Evening."

Consisting of three thematically related but narratively independent one-acts, Coen's plays are just as bizarre, funny, and occasionally crass as the films he and his brother Joel are famous for as the Coen Brothers such as "The Big Lebowski" and "Fargo."

In the first one act, "Waiting," we watch someone come to terms with a very unusual waiting room and the odd people who work there.

In "Four Benches," a spy comes to terms with their moral compass and what it means to be human. He also visits a few saunas and parks.

And in "Debate" a couple goes to see a play where two versions of the Christian God argue about how people behave. At dinner afterwards and ideological argument sparks up around the play.

The show will be free both nights with ticketing only to assure seats in the limited space. Please be advised that the play does contain gun fire, harsh language, and some themes that may not be appropriate for all audiences.
