Guadalope Inn, one of the shining lights of the Brooklyn music scene, is home to many of the city's best bands. As part of a renowned late night concert series, on February 17th Guadalupe will host the experimental-rock-jazz trio 'KADAWA'. Making serious waves in New York City through outstanding performances at Rockwood Music Hall, Nublu and Bowery Electric, KADAWA brings forth unparalleled energy, lyrical melodies and surprising improvisations.
Founded and led by double bass player & composer Almog Sharvit (who named the band after his favorite childhood chase game) , the band also features Israeli colleagues Tal Yahalom on guitar and Ben Silashi on drums. Sharvit has been a force to be reckoned with in the international jazz scene, winning the prestigious 'Rostov Jazz Competition' while performing with some of the best musicians of this era, the likes of Mulgrew Miller, Vic Juris and Sharon Clark. Sharvit composes most of the music for the band and navigates it brilliantly as a lead soloist, while Yahalom adds intricate soundscapes to Silashi's hard grooves.
Look forward to a lively night full of original music with this wonderful band.
Keep your eyes out for KADAWA!
