About the Panelists
Moderator: Chris Yeh, VP Marketing for PBworks. Chris has been building Internet businesses since 1995. He is the VP Marketing for PBworks, the world's leading provider of hosted collaboration solutions. PBworks serves over 85,000 businesses, including 1/3 of the Fortune 500. Previously, he was the first investor in and interim CEO of Ustream.TV, which provides an open and distributable platform for live interactive online video. Chris is also an active angel investor and the founder and Chairman of the Harvard Business School Technology Alumni Association. Steve White, Program Director, Software Solutions Alliances Leadership Council (SSALC IDC). Steve works with the SSALC members to define and research the key topics that affect strategic alliance investments, and provides analysis into alliance trends, best practices and benchmarking. In the past two years this has included in depth council discussions on SaaS, key performance indicators and alliance organizational best practices. Prior to joining IDC, Steve spent over seven years at Microsoft both in the United Kingdom and Canada, and has over 15 years experience in senior marketing roles in enterprise, services and partner businesses with leading technology vendors such as Microsoft, Compaq and Digital Equipment Company in the UK. Originally educated and trained as a management accountant in the UK, Steve progressed via business analyst roles into marketing early in his career, and enjoys working with clients on their alliances business and making partnering ideas and strategies a practical and successful reality.
Sandy Hawke, Senior Director of Product Marketing at BigFix, an IBM Company. Sandy Hawke, brings over 15 years of experience in IT operations and security to her product marketing role at BigFix, which was acquired by IBM last summer. Her product marketing strategy is informed by technical hands-on experience managing firewalls for UUNET and reducing risk as a security analyst at Cybertrust (now Verizon Business) as well as leading worldwide product marketing teams for Blue Coat, Vormetric and SenSage. She is a frequent speaker at industry events covering a wide range of topics such as power management, Green IT and sustainability programs, risk management and compliance, and can offer pragmatic insights for making the most of IT investments.
David Pollack, Market Development Strategist, Smart Grid and Mobile Resource Management at Sierra Wireless. David is a ten-year veteran of Cisco Systems and with Sierra Wireless since Fall 2010. Leveraging the utility of IP networking, he spearheads corporate efforts into new markets unaccessable through traditional channels. David’s career is marked by a record of innovation to harness technologies and go-to-market partnerships for competitive advantage. Prior to his tenure at Cisco, David focused on helping high tech ventures be successful in global markets through strategic partnerships, including coordination of global financing for international energy & chemical projects, as well as, venture capital work with high tech start ups.
Mario Rendon, Manager in the Workforce Development Department at Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E). Mario oversees training programs and initiatives under the nationally-recognized PG&E PowerPathway™ umbrella which address the preparation needed for the current and future energy workforce. He joined PG&E as a Government Relations Consultant, responsible for public affairs and community relations. Prior to joining PG&E, Mr. Rendon worked with elected officials for over 15 years at the local, state and federal level developing public policy around workforce development, healthcare, transportation, housing, environment, education and civic engagement. He earned a B.A. in Behavioral Science and Latin American Studies from Notre Dame de Namur University and a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
