The Griswold Auditorium (Friday, March 1)
Paranormal occurrences such as lights flickering, faint voices, sightings of a human figure, and footsteps when no one’s around, are said to be some of the strange occurrences that have been going on at the Griswold Auditorium for many years. These activities are thought to be the mischevious after-life activities of the late Mrs. Marilla Griswold, a wealthy lumber baroness who’s generous bequest of $100,000 help built the the 650 seat facility in 1929. However, a much better otherworldly candidate might be Ms. Abbie Smith, an actress and performer who was very active with the Allegan Community Players during her lifetime and spent a lot of time at the Griswold Auditorium performing while she was alive.
The Regent Theater (Saturday, April 1)
The Old Regent first started showing silent films and hosting Vaudeville in 1919. It was given a face-lift in the 1930s and redone in the popular Art Deco style. After decades of successfully entertaining the community, trouble began in the 1970s when new multi-flex cinemas were introduced to the suburbs. The theater’s audience dried and financial chaos ensued. The theater was abandoned during the 1980s, leaving a crummy shell of what it once was . The Old Regent Theatre Company bought the theater in 1996 and began restorations retuning it to it’s historical movie house roots. Many entities are thought to call The Old Regent Theater home. Guest have reported feeling cold spots, and a shadowy apparition has been seen in the auditorium and projection room.
The Investigation Schedule (Each Night)
- 8:00-8:30 pm: History of facility and paranormal background
- 8:30- 9:30 pm: Paranormal Investigation - Session 1
- 9:30 -10:30 pm: Paranormal Investigation - Session 2
- 10:30 -11:00 pm: Paranormal Pizza and debriefing
- 11:00 - 12:00 am: Paranormal Investigation - Session 3
- 12:00 - 1:00 am: Paranormal Investigation - Session 4
The Investigation Guidelines
Please follow these guidelines while attending a paranormal event:
- Flash photography is not permitted
- Do not touch, sit, or lean on the historical antique objects
- You must remain with your group at all times
- Spirit/Ouija boards may NOT be brought into the Brumder
- “Provoking methods” are NOT allowed under any circumstances
- Inebriated guests will not be allowed to participate
- If you are unable to follow these guidelines, the Brumner Mansion and Urban Paranormal Experience reserves the right to remove you from participation in any paranormal investigation activities and will not issue a refund of any portion of the Brumnder Mansion booking price.
