Event description

Topic: All Things STEM with Dr. Shelley Enger

Please note, this discussion is about general STEM preparation for all colleges and not UC specific.

Description: Dr. Enger and I will be discussing how students can best prepare for admission to STEM majors, choose between different STEM majors, find/create the ideal summer research internships, understand STEM career opportunities/options, and more. Dr. Shelley Enger is a cancer epidemiologist turned science educator/independent college admissions consultant. She founded Launching Future Scientists, a company focused on developing courses and college-preparation/career-development resources for students planning to pursue STEM disciplines. Dr. Enger graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in Microbiology & Immunology, earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Epidemiology at UCLA, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the USC Keck School of Medicine. In addition to teaching highly motivated high school students about the process of research science, Dr. Enger also served as Freshman Application Reader for UC Berkeley for 5 years.
