Join us for our 2019 All Industry Day (I-Day) event. This is our biggest event of the year and honors our 2019 New Designees. This year we have arranged for some topical educational seminars to go along with our traditional luncheon program.

Details: The panelists will discuss the public policy and practical issues that arise for the insurance industry as state-level restrictions on cannabis products have evolved, resulting in the development of a growing business sector. They will offer perspectives from a national trade association representing insurance companies, a Massachusetts-based producer who specializes in providing cannabis insurance products in states that have seen growth in the manufacturing, transportation and growth of cannabis-related business, and an attorney experienced in advising businesses in this sector including investors, lenders, operators of cultivation and dispensary facilities, consultants and family offices.

Each of the panelists is a Past President of the Boston CPCU Chapter, one of the nation’s oldest and largest CPCU Society Chapters. Topic: "An Inside Look into the Merrimack Valley Restoration Efforts"

Chief Recovery Officer, Merrimack Valley Restoration Efforts

Details: In September of 2018 following the Merrimack Valley gas explosions, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker appointed Joe as the Commonwealth’s Chief Recovery Officer and charged him with taking over the entire recovery effort. Joe took a 3 month leave of absence from Commodore Builders and led the effort to replace 45 miles of gas pipeline, recertify 13 miles of pipeline, and restore power to more than 10,500 residences, community and municipal buildings, schools, businesses. A vast majority of these customers had their heating equipment fully replaced as part of Phase I, which was announced as ‘substantially complete’ in December of 2018.

During Phase II, teams fully replaced heating equipment that was only repaired during the initial phase. In addition, teams repaired outdoor areas affected by construction including residential lawns, irrigation systems, walkways, driveways and state roads throughout the community.

Interesting facts that you’ll learn more about at the event:

  • - Installed nearly 18,500 new appliances and pieces of equipment for customers
  • - Restored service to 7,500 residential and business meters
  • - Provided temporary housing for 2,200 families
  • - Re-seeded more than 3,500 properties and completed 300 repairs to shrubs,walkways, landscaping, etc.
  • - Re-paved 4 MA state roads, 150+ driveways, private roads, and commercial lots - poured 870 concrete projects
  • - Resolved 97% of claims related to September 13th event totaling $108.5M
  • - Over $5M energy efficiency incentives and services provided to Merrimack Valley customers – and may increase to $10M by end of year
  • - More than $20M donated to local communities and charities

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There are many self serve parking facilities nearby the Hotel. The closest is probably the Boston Harbor Garage 70 E. India Row Boston, MA 02110.

Additionally, there is on site parking available via valet at $55 USD/day. The garage cannot accommodate vehicles over 6 feet 7 inches high

The Hotel is 0.1 mi from the Aquarium Subway Station (MBTA Blue Line). The Hotel is 0.8 mi from N. Station and 0.8 mi from S. Station.

Due to the need of giving the Hotel an advance count, we cannot accept any refund requests beyond Friday November 1st.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

See above, it is ok but we prefer advance notice.

Will there be a bar at the luncheon?

Yes. We will have a cash bar available for our guests.

Does this seminar qualify for continuing education credits?
