Description

Join the University of San Francisco's Museum Studies Graduate Association for a free lecture, discussion, and book signing of Museum Theorist Elaine Gurian’s seminal collection of essays, Civilizing the Museum. Followed by a reception at Thacher Gallery in conjunction with their exhibition, Something from Nothing: Art and Handcrafted Objects from America's Concentration Camps.

The lecture will be held in the Handlery Room (located in Lone Mountain's main building), followed by a reception in Thacher Gallery. Limited copies of Ms. Gurian's book will be available for purchase; bring your own copy for a guaranteed signature. Street parking is available, but extremely limited. Public transportation is recommended.
