Meet our Celebrity Host

Annie Duke

Annie Duke

With a list of accomplishments that rivals anyone else in the history of poker, Annie Duke has made a name for herself at the poker table and beyond.  It’s no wonder she was chosen to be a contestant on the 2nd season of Celebrity Apprentice. An accomplished poker player, author, television personality, poker coach to the stars, humanitarian and loving mother, Duke’s life includes an impressive array of highlights.

In 1994, at the suggestion of her brother, famed poker player Howard Lederer, Duke tried her hand at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.  She ended up placing 13th in her first tournament, knocking her brother out of play.  After winning 70K in her first month of competition, Duke and her husband made the move to Las Vegas so she could pursue poker professionally.

Over the course of the next decade, Duke established herself as one of the best poker players in the world.  She now serves as a consultant for the online poker site to ensure that their rules of poker and tournament structure match those you would find in the famous poker rooms of the Las Vegas strip. Furthermore, she is sought after for her vast poker skills and knowledge, coaching the likes of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon on their poker game.

It is run by a dedicated, small professional staff and trained volunteers who work to help counselor-referred teens learn responsibility, empathy, teamwork and coping skills using the therapeutic modality of training homeless shelter dogs.

k9 connection offers its programs free of charge and relies solely on the generosity of individual, company and foundation donations. The funds from this event will go directly to help k9 connection continue to serve its communities. Your contribution will make a difference for teens and shelter dogs now and in the years to come.
