Description

Ginworld Gin Week is excited to announce yet another distillery expert James Chase of the Chase Distillery in Herefordshire, England. The family runs a single estate gin and vodka distillery incorporating their vast potato farmland into the gin by distilling with potato and from the apples in their 200 year old apple orchards. When distilled correctly, potato distilled gins can have a comparatively rich, fatty mouthfeel that adds a level of body to the spirit. Apple distilled gins are usually created from a cider like fermentation and can have a malty yet crisp flavor profile.

Our presentor James Chase will discuss the aspects of gin and distilling with a feature on base spirit components and a tasting and discussion on how a spectrum of base spirits can influence the flavor, texture and mouthfeel of a gin as well as a dive into the gin distilling process.
