Learn the ancient, mindful, and goddam delicious science of baking sourdough bread. We'll share a loaf of fresh bread and tackle the "whys" and "hows" of sourdough, so that after just two hours, you'll be well on your way to becoming a master of lactofermentation. After you learn to grow your own starter, you'll make your own dough to take home and bake.

Free for children under 12. No one is turned away for lack of funding!

What to bring….

A tea towel and a bowl (we suggest at least 4 qt), or a large food container with lid to carry your dough home.

To complete the sourdough baking, you will need to have access to an oven, a refrigerator, and a razor blade or exacto knife.

Previous experience is not required. It's all about getting your hands dirty (or…clean indeed) and learning!
