Event description

Description

More and more people with disabilities are using service animals these days and they sometimes encounter roadblocks to keeping their animals with them in public places. This free presentation will cover the use of service animals in rental housing, with mention of their use in government facilities, in the workplace, and in places of business. The presentation is PowerPoint format, with plenty of time for Q&A.

We'll discuss:

    • the various laws that protect people who use service animals

    • the different definitions of service animals and what these animals do

    • what types of animals may be service animals or companion animals

    • when and what kind of written verification a person might need for an animal

    • behavioral expectations for service animals while in common areas or public places

    • how to troubleshoot difficulties that may arise with landlords, employers or business people

PLEASE NOTE:  If you are registering for more than one person, please enter a name and email address for each one.
