FAQs

Who should attend?

This event is highly recommended for all dads and dads-to-be. Wives, girlfriends and signficant others also are encouraged to attend. Sorry, child care is not available so we ask that children not be brought to the conference.

Although all dads are welcome, special emphasis will be given to issues related to non-custodial parenting, co-parenting in divorce and dealing with child support and child welfare systems.

If you want to be a better dad, this conference is for you.

What can I expect to learn?

All About Dads will be both motivational and practical. You will hear the high and noble call that has been placed on dads to provide, protect, lead and teach. Dads will be shown practical tools that will empower them to be better dads and husbands.

Are scholarships available?

A modest fund is available for scholarships, which will be issued on a case-by-case basis. To apply, email info@spofi.org.

Will a meal be provided?

Yes. A lunch will be served on-site at no additional cost. Refreshments will be available throughout the day. Coffee and donuts will be available during registration from 8 to 9 a.m.

What is the conference format?

The morning sessions feature our keynote speakers. After lunch, you will be able to attend breakout sessions based on your special interests or needs.

You also will be able to connect with exhibitors who deal with fatherhood and parenting issues.

What is the Spokane Fatherhood Initiative -- SpoFI?

The Spokane Fatherhood Initiative (SpoFI) is a faith-based non-profit that stands as a champion, advocate and cheerleader for fathers. SpoFI's objectives are to build stronger dads, stronger families and stronger kids through training programs, networking, community initiatives and public awareness campaigns. For further details, go to https://spofi.org/about-spofi/

What if I can attend only a portion of the conference?

You are welcome to join or leave the conference at any time. However, partial-day pricing is not available.

Is this a faith-based event?

Yes, but we do not want anyone to feel excluded because of the Christian flavor of this event. SpoFI is a faith-based non-profit and our speakers are Christians who will emphasize Chrisian values. We welcome atheists as well as people of other faiths. We believe this training will benefit all who attend regardless of their religious beliefs.

Will I be asked to buy something or become a member of SpoFI?

No. This conference is about achieving SpoFI's objectives of building stronger dads, stronger families and stronger kids. Your participation is entirely voluntary. However, we do welcome your continued support of SpoFI after the conference. Follow us and our activities at www.spofi.org.
