Alien's Guide Short Film Festival
Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 3:00 PM (EDT)
The Corcoran is now accepting submissions for The Alien’s Guide Film Festival, a film competition taking place in the Corcoran’s auditorium on Saturday, August 24th at 3 p.m. Inspired by the exhibition, Ellen Harvey: The Alien’s Guide to the Ruins of Washington, D.C., filmmakers are asked to imagine the world in the distant future, long after human civilization has come to an end. Populated only by the ruins and artifacts we left behind, the earth is ripe for interpretation by visitors from another planet. Filmmakers should attempt to make sense of an aspect of the human experience with short films, all entitled: “The Alien’s Guide to __________.” Feel free to be creative with what you choose to interpret through alien eyes.
At the Festival on Saturday, August 24th, the audience will vote on the top short film of the day. The winner of The Alien’s Guide Film Festival will receive a $250 cash prize.
