Please join us in Alice Springs on Tuesday18 June 2019 for a Provider Information Session.

About this Event

Hosted by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), this event will feature four presentations for Providers.

Please register for each individual presentation you want to attend.

You are encouraged to send the most appropriate representative to each presentation. This person should work in the relevant field and understand the subject area.

PRESENTATIONS

Presentation 1 (11.30am to 12.45pm): NDIA - Workforce and Demand:

Learn about the Boosting the Local Care Workforce (BLCW) Program, including the NDIS Demand Map, Readiness Assessment Tool. Understand how NDIS providers are supported to be sustainable, including by attracting, retaining, and optimising workforces.

Presentation 2 (1.15pm to 2.30pm): NDIA - Good Payment Practices:

This presentation aims to help providers better understand their business and administrative obligations when transacting with the NDIA, so that they can focus on supporting participants to achieve their goals.

Presentation 3 (2.30pm to 3.50pm): NDIS Commission - Your Responsibilities:

Building on the introductory information session held earlier this year, this presentation will comprise an overview of Provider obligations, Registration and Renewals, Code of Conduct, Practice Standards, Worker Orientation and ways in which the NDIS Commission will support Providers. There will also be time allocated for a question and answer segment.

Presentation 4 (4.00pm to 5.15pm): NDIS Commission - Behaviour Support, Complaints and Reportable Incidents:

This presentation will provide information regarding Behaviour Support, Complaints and Reportable Incidents. There will also be time allocated for a question and answer segment.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

NDIS Commission

The NDIS Commission is a new independent agency established to improve the quality and safety of services and supports under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

From 1 July 2018, the NDIS Commission became responsible for registering all NDIS service providers in New South Wales and South Australia. From 1 July 2019, the NDIS Commission will begin regulating providers in the Northern Territory, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory. From 1 July 2020, the NDIS Commission will commence operations in Western Australia.

NDIA

The NDIA is an independent statutory agency. The role of the NDIA is to implement the NDIS, which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.
