Alice Keeler Benefit Event for Diana Herrington Endowment

Join Alice Keeler for an exclusive event: Teaching Math with Google Apps. Designed specifically for teachers of 4th – 12th grade students, Alice will demonstrate an incredible array of techniques for using Google Apps, Google Classroom, and Google Docs to dramatically enhance your teaching of mathematics.

Alice's unique combination of experience and extensive knowledge of the Google tools combined with her in-depth understanding of effective pedagogy and Common Core Math are a powerhouse combination that make the Teaching Math with Google Apps program both inspirational and imminently practical. Alice has an easy-going, fun, and “hands-on” presentational style which will ensure you walk away from this experience with not only unbelievable ideas to transform your math classrooms but also tools and strategies you can implement tomorrow.

Proceeds from this workshop will benefit the Diana Herrington Memorial Endowment.

Diana Herrington was an amazing and passionate math teacher. Her vision was to create a scholarship fund to encourage students to go into STEM fields. In the wake of her passing, we would like to help her dream become a reality. Diana taught high school math for 30 years and never one to truly retire went on to teaching at California State University Fresno in the math department, teaching teachers how to teach math. Diana recently published the book "Teaching Math with Google Apps: 50 G Suite Activities" which is full of her innovative approaches to teaching math in ways that truly inspire students to love math. Diana always was putting her students before herself.

Even her last week of retirement Diana was BUYING new toys for her Calculus students to use to model their math. Diana has won many awards for teaching mathematics and she almost always used her award money to buy not only things for her math classes but for the entire department at Clovis High to benefit from. She was a Presidental Blue Ribbon award winner in the field of teaching mathematics.

She was the only non-science teacher to win Science Fair Coach of the Year. She won the Central Valley Computer Using Educators teacher of the year award. She has been the chief lead writer for almost every math exam for the state of California. Most importantly, she was an incredible mom to her daughter Kendia. They were constantly taking trips together and bringing back real life things to use in their classrooms. Loving wife to Ken and daughter to Dolores Slater.

No one had more passion for teaching math and for their students than Diana Herrington.
