ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate) is a set of proactive, options-based strategies that increase your chances of survival during a violent intruder or Active Shooter event. For 14 years, the ALICE Training Institute has provided violent intruder response training to individuals and organizations across the nation.
This 4-hour training course is designed to teach citizens the skills and strategies that bridge the gap between the time a violent event begins and law enforcement arrives.
Class Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this training the student will:
Have the understanding, they have the right to make decisions for their own safety when confronted with a violent situation
Have an understanding of the profile and dynamics of an active shooter event
Understand the purpose and methods of Alerting
Understand the purpose and methods of lockdown and barricading
Understand the purpose and importance of keeping law enforcement, employees and others informed of what is happening on scene whenever possible
Understand the purpose and methods of countering when confronted with a violent situation
Safety gear for this training will be issued onsite by the training provider, but long pants and long sleeved shirts or coat are recommended
During this course, there will be multiple training exercises involving weapons simulations.
No weapon of any kind (including impact and less-than-lethal weapons), live ammunition, weapon magazines,
are to be on any person or in the training area (including classroom) at any time during this course.
Each individual is responsible for properly securing his or her weapon(s) before this training course.
