Event description

Description

It’s Laravel season, and we’ve decided to bring together Laravel experts from all over Europe: two Laracon speakers with talks about real world projects you’ll be able to replicate the next day and the founder of TNT Search, a fully featured full text search engine written in PHP.

We're cohosting this event with Laravel France. The Laravel France community promotes the usage of Laravel and its ecosystem to developers & companies. You can find their events on Meetup.com, ask your questions on https://laravel.fr, and chat on Slack on https://laravel.fr/slack!

Speakers

Freek Van der Herten, Spatie.be, Speaker at Laracon US & EU
Building a dashboard with Laravel, Vue and Pusher

On the wall-mounted dashboard in our office, we can see at-a-glance current tasks for members of our team, upcoming important events, what music is playing, and much more.

In this talk I'll explain how we leveraged both Laravel and Vue to build the dashboard, taking a deep dive in the code. We'll take a look at the entire flow: the grid system, how events are broadcast using Pusher, some cool Vue mixins and much more. After this talk you’ll be able to set up your own dashboard using our open source code.

Julien Bourdeau, Software Engineer at Algolia, Speaker at Laracon EU
Lightning-fast search with Laravel Scout, Vue and Algolia

We'll cover how to use Scout to index your data into Algolia and how to use Vue.js to display search results instantly on your app. As an example, we'll also add location-based search and display result on a map.

Nenad Tičarić, CEO at TNT Search
Adding search suggestions to your Laravel application

Dealing with structured data, databases and relationships is easy both for the developer and the user but what about unstructured data, like text? In this talk, learn how to easily create "did you mean…” search functionality and search suggestions in your Laravel apps using TNTSearch, an open source package that makes working with textual data as simple as possible.
