 About Aimee Gowland of ALG Style:

Aimee is a fashion writer for Greater New Orleans Living Magazine. In addition, she publishes a bi-monthly, on-line newsletter highlighting fashion finds in the New Orleans area and popular events in the fashion world. Ms. Gowland continues with wardrobe consultations and personal shopping for her clients.

Prior to her return to New Orleans, Aimée was a buyer for the contemporary women’s market in New York City and managed a trend-setting women’s boutique in New Haven. Her education includes a Master’s Degree from St. Peter’s College and post graduate studies from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. Her focus at FIT was trend forecasting, design history and marketing.

NOLA Fashion Council, L3C // NOLA Fashion Week

NOLA Fashion Council, L3C (NOLAFC) is the driving force behind the current growth of the Fashion Industry in New Orleans. We provide a forum for designers, models, hairdressers, makeup artists, and various industry professionals to grow and showcase their talents. NOLAFC works closely with designers, connecting them with resources needed to grow their businesses.

Biannually, NOLAFC hosts NOLA Fashion Week (NOLAFW) to provide Southern born or based designers a platform to gain exposure, increase sales and professional contacts.

Since the inaugural season of NOLAF in March 2011, we have produced over 80 fashion events in the greater New Orleans region with designers like: Sophomore NYC, by Smith, Cavortress, Jolie & Elizabeth, Amanda deLeon, Andrea Loest, Annie Griffin, blackout. by Ashley Ming, Matthew Arthur, Libellule, Loretta Jane, dope., Leah Milana, Varela + Brooks, Brennan Manuel, Rogersliu, Izavel, Ottilie Brodmann, Niré, Cocodri and Coco Bourgeouisie.

To provide continuing education for professionals in the region and to teach new skills to the fashion-focused community, NOLAFC has hosted over 28 educational workshops during NOLAFW as well as throughout the year. Workshops were led by industry experts from brands including Vera Wang, L'Oréal Professionnel, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, and Goorin Bros.

During each week long season of NOLAFW - Fall/Winter held in March and Spring/Summer held in October: 30+ events are held at various locations in and around the Greater New Orleans area. Along side designer-focused runway shows and presentations, events include a regional Retail Shopping Day as well as a Fashion Market. Open to buyers and the public, NOLAFW’s Fashion Market features emerging independent Southern based and born designer collections, as well as local artisan brands.

Attendees of our events include buyers, media, bloggers, influencers and supporters along with fashion-minded consumers purchasing one of our limited number of public access passes.

NOLAFC’s events have reached more than 80 million people with press placements in over 80 outlets spanning 3 continents and has reached over 1.4 million users through social media and has consistently been a trending topic in the region.
