"Alexander the Great Visits New Orleans"
Event Information
Description
Morgan Molthrop, author/artist, presents the first chapter in a visual tale of Alexander the Great's visit to contemporary New Orleans. Molthrop has created a life-sized royal campaign tent to house the King of Kings on his visit. The tent houses seven epic murals about his Big Easy visit, including a trip to Audubon Park, the athletic club, Congo Square, and the "Meeting of the Courts." This preview benefit will be a "toast" to Alexander by several "downriver" Mardi Gras krewe kings and queens. Wine and light fare for all campaigners. Proceeds benefit the Creative Alliance of New Orleans. Reduced admission for guest of krewe captains.
