Hello and Welcome to Alchemix 4!

Alchemix is an active community of innovation practitioners and these sessions are a series of open forum discussions between Innovators, Entrepreneurs, Creative minds, Designers, Engaged citizens and Investors. The sessions bring together the community every couple of months to debate, discuss, learn and apply. Each session is for around two hours and focuses on a particular aspect/ domain of applied Innovation. Alchemix Session 4: Social Energy - the critical Innovation ingredient and who's applying it..

Time, date and place: Saturday, November 12th 2011, at the Idiom DREAM:IN Centre, Indiranagar, Bangalore. 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm

And the focus this time is on businesses and organizations that are applying the power of social media, social platforms and connects in a cohesive manner into their business model. We have invited some insightful entrepreneurs and individuals to speak at the session who will share their core work, examples and learning related to the strategy and implementation of social media for generating real impact on their business/ operations.

Here is who you will get to interact with:

  1. Shradha Sharma – Founder of, India's leading online platform for first generation Indian entrepreneurs. In 2010 Shradha won the NASSCOM Ecosystem Evangelist Award for her efforts in building an inclusive startup community. Active on @YourStorydotin @sharmashradha
  2. Maya Hemant – Anchor of Social media at Pratham Books and active on @prathambooks.  The organization has a mission to put a book in the hands of every child and through social networks the Pratham team builds a community of readers, contributors, and evangelists who help ensure this mission is achieved.   3. Sathy Joseph – The online communication specialist at Ashoka India. Ashoka is synonymous with recognising phenomenal changemakers across the world and supporting them to achieve the full potential of their ideas. Ashoka has been active in India for over 30 years and over the last year is leveraging the power of social media via Facebook, online competitions and twitter to build an ever growing community of social entrepreneurs.   4. Siddharth Mangharam – Founder and CEO of the immensely popular Floh, a membership network of likeminded single people in Bangalore. With no formal marketing strategy but through the power of social connects and a Facebook App, Floh has created tremendous following, a waiting list of members and over the last few weeks a million hits on its website. Clearly Bangalore has a lot of single people - but more importantly Floh has found a way to really connect with them. Active on @flohnetwork
  5. Nathália Matychevicz & Shankar Soma – Anchors of social media for mDhil, a healthcare information service that reaches you via web, phone and digital media. Their Facebook page has over 98,000 fans and growing. Nathalia is passionate about branding, communication and leadership, has studied, lived and worked in 6 different countries and is the Social Media Manager at mDhil. Shankar specializes in Search Engine Optimization and is the SEO, SEM Director at mDhil. Active on @mHealthtips


Its a two hour session with five great examples to learn from  – its going to be jam packed with insights. So if you have been wondering how your organization can use these new tools, join the session to learn from entrepreneurs and teams who are the real practitioners of this approach.

Alchemix will again be collaborating with the Idiom DREAM:IN Centre to bring IDIOM's design innovation expertise into the mix.
