Parents, ABQ Maker Faire is a great opportunity for you and your children to work together and enjoy learning together. Don't miss this chance to learn together.
To have a fantastic time! You'll be surprised and intrigued with every corner that you turn.
What should I know?
Some hands on projects may have a cost for materials you will use. Our makers work very hard to keep the materials costs as low as possible but we also want you to have an amazing day so bring some extra money to cover these costs. And there are a number of hands-on experiences that are included in your ticket for the ABQ Maker Faire.
Come and spend the day. We have several of ABQ's best food trucks and a lot to do. Or bring a picnic lunch and when you are hungry you can bring it into the grass area and enjoy your lunch.

NM2 was formed as a response to the ever-growing Make Movement around the world. After the success of our first ABQ Maker Faire in September 2012, we decided that to be able to take ABQ Maker Faire to the next level that we needed to establish a nonprofit organization to organize and produce the next ABQ Maker Faire and from there New Mexico New Makers was born and nicknamed NM2! NM2 be producing the ABQ Maker Faire as an annual 2-Day event in the Albuquerque area. We also reach out to support the growing New Mexico Make Community throughout the year. And Quelab is the 'offical' year round home for the ABQ Maker Faire drop in and see what we are up to!
The Albuquerqu Mini Maker Faire will be at the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum and Balloon Fiesta Park.
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.
Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.
The original Maker Faire event was held in San Mateo, CA and in 2016 celebrated its eleventh annual show with some 1300 makers and 150,000 people in attendance. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagship event, has grown in five years to 900+ makers and 90,000 attendees. Thirty-one larger scale Maker Faires occur in cities around the world—Detroit, Atlanta, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, and Shenzhen to name a few— and over 150 community-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires are now being produced in the United States and in 34 other countries around the world.
