Meet our Guest Speakers!

Marva Douglas is an ardent advocate for public transportation, including through membership in two local transit organizations: the Transit Citizens Advisory Board (TCAB) and the Action Coalition for Transit (ACT). She is retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company and is a former owner of The Learning Zone, a tutoring center, and the Aldridge Repertory Theatre, Inc. She continues to perform in local theatres.

John Northrop is a member of the Transit Citizens Advisory Board to the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority and coordinator of the Action Coalition for Transit in Alabama. ACT is a non-partisan, volunteer alliance of individuals and organizations working to ensure dependable, sustainable access to life necessities and amenities. John is a retired head of the Alabama School of Fine Arts and former group leader for Citizens’ Climate Lobby-Birmingham.
