Description
The Alabama REALTORS® Annual Meeting will be held October 20-21 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center and the Capital City Club. Governance will be handled Sunday afternoon at the Board Meeting. Sunday evening, kick-off the festivities with a special cocktail reception celebrating RPAC's 50th Anniversary followed by the Annual Awards Celebration & Installation. The celebration will continue at the installation reception featuring The Andrews Brothers Dueling Pianos at our new venue, the Capitol City Club, overlooking downtown Montgomery. Monday’s General Session will feature five guest speakers covering a variety of hot topics affecting the real estate industry.

Enjoy a three-course meal with a wine pairing while celebrating fellow REALTORS®. A reception at our new venue, the Capital City Club, featuring The Andrews Brothers Dueling Pianos will follow the awards and installation ceremony. A photo booth will also be available to capture the memorable night. All net proceeds will benefit the Alabama REALTORS® Foundation.
An individual ticket includes admission to the RPAC 50th Anniversary Reception, awards dinner, and the installation reception. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

GENERAL SESSION
Vince Malta- Mr. Malta, current President-Elect and 2020 President for the National Association of REALTORS®, will provide an update from NAR including upcoming events and news for 2020 and our federal advocacy efforts, along with important updates from across the country and their impact on the Association and real estate industry.
Brian Powell- Mr. Powell is the head of the Alabama Department of Insurance’s Strengthen Alabama Homes Program, a statewide wind fortification program that provides grants to protect a home against severe storms, high winds, and wind driven rain. Wind mitigation and fortification can lower the impact of damage inflicted by severe storms and protect homeowners. Alabama has become the tornado alley of the Southeastern United States with an extreme uptick in severe storms. Mr. Powell will provide an update on the wind fortification efforts across the state and what you need to know to help clients.
Kenneth Boswell- Mr. Boswell, Director of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), will provide an update on the upcoming 2020 United States Census and its importance to the future of the state and it’s economic growth and development- and what we as REALTORS® can do to help.
Lisa Scoble- Ms. Scoble, Vice-President of Program Business for Pearl Insurance, will provide an update on cyber and transaction fraud threats affecting real estate professionals across the country and what you can do to protect your businesses, clients, and transactions.
Chad Singletary- Mr. Singletary is a Principal with the nationwide accounting firm, Carr, Riggs & Ingram. Mr. Singletary will provide an update on recent tax law changes and how they impact small businesses and independent contractors, along with an overview of the benefits of different company structures such as LLCs and S- Corporations for independent contractor real estate agents.
