Meet in the Covered Picnic Area next to the playground
In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Open Space Authority is pleased to present Akoma Arts: Culture and Community. This workshop will combine the therapeutic and healing effects of drumming and dancing to integrate traditional and modern approaches to music, rhythms, movement and sound to promote physical, mental, and emotional balance. This is an amazing and exceptional group and you will not want to miss it. Space is limited! Please do sign up as soon as possible. While drumming space for students is limited to 20 people, everyone is welcome to come and listen and learn. Please register those who will be taking the actual class, but feel free to come watch and enjoy. The Parking fee is $6 at the gate. Free parking is on Chynoweth but you will need to walk about a 1/4 mile to the main area if you do.
