Event description

Description

Which pieces of your daily activity are you deciding on moment to moment? Research shows an average city-dwelling adult is called upon to make about 35,000 decisions per day.

Thinking back your last 24 hours, of your 35,000 decisions how many did you pause, consider and direct... and how many were automatic and followed procedures that are already preprogrammed for you? What happens to your brain if you try to change regular habits like crossing your arms the opposite way, or driving an alternative route to work?

At our next meetup we are going to engage in a lively discussion based on work in Charles Duhigg's The Power of Habit. We'll look at some of the research on where habits come from, how to recognise their intention, and the different levers we have to make deliberate, positive changes to our habits in ways that put us in the driver's seat of the bus, and put or habits to work in useful ways that nourish and serve us to bring more happiness and fulfillment in life.

Interested in changing a bad habit that grinds on you, or in building a new habit around productivity, health, or success? I look forward to seeing you at Jack Tar!

Please register on meetup for the event.
