Event description

Treat your Moms to two of the most memorable ballets of all times:

Swan Lake and Anna Karenina

White Swan Odette saved by the true love of Prince Siegfried and the romantic love story of Russian Princess Anna Karenina with the charming Count Alexey Vronsky.

Between the two ballets cast member Kylie Brown and Mom Jeanie share their experience raising a ballerina, because Moms are there for you when you're up and ready to catch you when you fall ...

Choreography: Chiara Ajkun

Music: Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky (Swan Lake), Dario Marianelli (Anna Karenina)

Performing Company: Ajkun Ballet Theatre | www.ajkunbt.org

Swan Lake

is perhaps the most beloved among all classical ballets. Princess Odette is transformed into a White Swan by the evil sorcerer Von Rothbart and must find faithful love to break the spell. Odette is a swan for all but a few hours of each night. Spellbound by the beautiful swan, Prince Siegfried sees it changing before his eyes into Princess Odette. Siegfried promises her his everlasting love.

Anna Karenina

is one of the most romantic love stories. Count Alexey Vronsky fell for Princess Anna like he never knew love existed and wanted all of her, impatiently, forever. Princess Anna struggled at his adoring eyes. Then, they danced… Alexey is promised to Kitty and Anna is married. Set in Imperial Russia by author Leon Tolstoy, the novel deals with society’s expectations versus the desire of living a more fulfilling life. There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, to complete the song every heart sings longing for another heart to whisper back.

The Ajkun Ballet Theatre performs the ballets in an intimate Studio setting where the audience enjoys a closeup of the Cast and complimentary Photos with the Dancers. Hosted and introduced by artistic director Chiara Ajkun.
