Air Potato Biological Control Demonstration Day

June 3, 2017 beginning at 9 a.m.

You might have heard about the UF/IFAS air potato biological control program and are curious to learn more. Now’s your chance! The public is invited to a special air potato biological control demonstration day at Anderson Park, 39699 US Hwy 19 N in Tarpon Springs.

The Air Potato Biological Control Extension Program is connecting Floridians managing invasive air potato (Dioscorea bulbifera) with a biological control agent: the air potato leaf beetle (Lilioceris cheni). UF/IFAS Research and Extension, United States Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Division of Plant Industry partnered on air potato biological control in Florida.

Pre-registration is required. All ages welcome!

Note: Specific details regarding the meeting location within Anderson Park will be sent out prior to the event.
