About this event
AIM Scientific Symposium: Care in the Crisis
On Friday, April 29th, the best and brightest minds in youth mental health will gather at the Sunset Center in Carmel for a day filled with the latest research and cutting-edge solutions to address the burgeoning youth mental health crisis. An opening keynote address by California’s Mental Health Czar, Dr. Tom Insel, will be followed by presentations about the latest treatments for Anxiety, ADHD, Anorexia Nervosa, and Suicide Prevention. Following the doctors, we will hear from the voices of youth about findings and recommendations from peer-to-peer research conducted for youth by youth. Parents will share their strategies for caring for their children amid a national shortage of therapists. The day will conclude with the unveiling of works of art created by youth to express the realities of mental illness and challenges.
