About the organizer
AILA Norcal Purchase/refund policy: Event Registration and Refunds: 1. AILA NorCal members who are "Non-Profit Members" of AILA National may attend NorCal's monthly CLEs and New Members Division CLEs at no charge except for: A) meetings involving lunch/dinner or B) meetings held jointly with other organizations. You must be registered as a Non-Profit Member with AILA National in order to qualify - please bring your AILA membership card to the CLE to verify your status. For details on becoming a Non-Profit Member, please visit the AILA website at http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=11530. 2. Legal Assistants and Paralegals working in for-profit firms may attend AILA NorCal CLEs and events if accompanied by an attorney from the same office or firm who is an AILA NorCal member. These Legal Assistants may not attend without an attorney from the same office or firm who is an AILA NorCal member. This policy is in place, in part, to reduce the possibility of access for notarios and other individuals improperly holding themselves out to be attorneys. Legal Assistants and Paralegals working in for-profit firms accompanied by an AILA attorney will pay the same amount as for-profit AILA members for any event. 3. Legal Assistants and Paralegals who work for nonprofit organizations with AILA members on staff may attend AILA CLEs and events even if not accompanied by an attorney who is an AILA NorCal member. This policy is in place because several nonprofits with AILA member attorneys have accredited representatives on staff who assist clients in a way that benefits the goals of AILA. If the Legal Assistant or Paralegal working for a nonprofit organization is attending a CLE in the place of (i.e., instead of) an AILA member who is an AILA National Nonprofit Member, then the nonprofit Legal Assistant or Paralegal’s meeting fees will be waived (as the AILA member's would have been waived – see #2 above). Legal Assistants and Paralegals working for nonprofit agencies attending a CLE in addition to the nonprofit AILA attorney (and not instead of the nonprofit AILA attorney) will pay the same amount for the meeting as for-profit AILA NorCal members. 4. AILA student members may attend NorCal's monthly CLEs and New Members Division CLEs at no charge except for: 1) meetings involving lunch/dinner or 2) meetings held jointly with other organizations. 5. Students who are not AILA members may attend AILA events if accompanied by an AILA NorCal member. Such students will be charged a discounted fee of $15 with a valid student ID. 6. Refunds will be provided upon request until the first RSVP deadline for any meeting or event. Any processing fees charge by the online registration provider will be deducted from the refund. After the first RSVP deadline, no requests for refunds will be honored.
