Event description
A full day of continuing education (up to 7 CEU/HSW) focused on the theme of Equity in Planning.

About this Event

AIA Blue Ridge is proud to present our signature continuing education symposium for 2019: Equity in Planning – Person, Community, City.

Equity matters for everyone. Though “equity” and “equality” are frequently used interchangeably, they do not mean the same thing. Equality has an end goal of sameness, while equity provides fair and just access to the resources necessary to succeed for all people regardless of socioeconomic, racial, or ethnic grouping.

Equity is crucial to design and to the future of the architectural profession. Speakers will discuss equitable design strategies at the building, community, and city scales. They will also explore how increasing diversity within the profession leads to more innovative design and to increased public awareness of the value that architects and allied professionals bring to the table.

Earn up to 7 CEU/HSW.
