Jean-Michel Voltaire is a proven-leader, a recognized humanitarian, and an experienced litigator with the U.S. Department of Justice - attending to complex international, constitutional, and administrative law cases. In 2010, after the Haiti Earthquake, he was transferred to the State Department to help develop a whole-of-government response to the humanitarian crisis. He travelled to Haiti to assess the security and rule of law sectors, and was a co-author of the US Government Post Earthquake Haiti Strategy. Beyond his personal and professional successes, Mr. Voltaire is not satisfied, knowing the number of children struggling with adversity in his native country.
To give back, he founded in 2010 Reunion Sportive d'Haiti, Inc (RSH - www.RSHaiti.org) - a tax-exempt organization registered in Maryland and Haiti. RSH is dedicated to the well-being of Haiti's youth. It has a long-term commitment to helping under-served youth to build the skills they need to succeed in life, to achieve their goals, and to create a safer community in which they live. In four years, RSH built under Jean-Michel's leadership an elementary school in his native village, children no longer walk 3 hours to school. RSH installed a clean water system to reduce water-borne diseases in children, and provided half of the village with proper sanitation facilities. But most importantly, each summer, through RSH Mr Voltaire organizes a soccer camp for thousands of children to prevent juvenile delinquency.
Mr. Voltaire obtained his undergraduate degree from City University of New York, graduating first of his class and was named Class Valedictorian. He obtained his Juris Doctor’s degree from New York Law School, magna cum laude, 7th of his class, and served on its Law Review. Mr. Voltaire has received numerous awards for both his academic and professional achievements. Our reknown DJ Keke will once again move you during the Social-professional mingling with the latest Zouk and best Konpa rhythms.
